The removal of Viktor Janukovic from his presidential office in February 2014 can be described as the last one Russian withdrawal from its strategic front. This firstly implies that the Russian Federation turns back into its pre-dissolution key role as geopolitical actor, and also demonstrated that it is well-equipped to deploy its coercive power out of its own boundaries, contrary to the NATO will. Globalization flows, in fact, strongly require imperial authorities, mocking the three characteristics whose is composed the modern sovereignty: territory, statute law and jurisdiction. The increasing fragmentation of the space, the subsequent porosity of boundaries, the inadequacy of formal State power, these are leading elements that show the decline - but not necessarily the end - of the modern State, or better, its proper configuration originated by the Cartesian representation of the space. Sovereign power is less formalized and State boundaries don't set insurmountable border lines any more, consequently the non-interference principle has been waning in its concrete purpose. Empires better comply with those requirements of a non-centralized sovereignty, that is promptly enlarged on the basis of any risk perception and it is wide enough to regulate currently global flows of information, goods and finance, no longer manageable on inter-national basis.

Abstract
Empires better comply with those requirements of a non-centralized sovereignty, that is promptly enlarged on the basis of any risk perception and it is wide enough to regulate currently global flows of information, goods and finance, no longer manageable on inter-national basis.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
